The Bachelor: outrage as Locky Gilbert and Bella Varelis forget to wear life jackets

‘First time on a yacht?’ Viewers of The Bachelor are left OUTRAGED as Locky Gilbert and Bella Varelis fail to wear life jackets during first date on Sydney Harbour

Locky Gilbert and Bella Varelis enjoyed their first date together on a romantic cruise around Sydney Harbour on a luxury yacht.

And it appears the couple were so caught up on their solo outing during Thursday’s episode, they failed to wear life jackets.

Viewers watching from home were quick to flock to social media to express their concern for the reality stars.

‘First time on a yacht?’ On Thursday, viewers of The Bachelor were left OUTRAGED when Locky Gilbert and Bella Varelis (both pictured) failed to wear life jackets during their first date on Sydney Harbour

‘Why are they not wearing life jackets?’ one eagle-eyed fan tweeted.

A second viewer appeared to be just as perplexed. ‘First time on a yacht. No life jackets? OK then,’ they quipped.

Meanwhile, one viewer was watching at home with their mother, who was also concerned: ‘My mum is asking where are their life jackets?’ they wrote.

Another joked about their first smooch: ‘I’m so impressed they could tread water and kiss at the same time. He’d lean in, and I’d ask for a life jacket first.’

It comes as TAB’s latest betting odds strongly suggest that the winner of The Bachelor has been leaked ahead of the premiere.

The bookmaker has Bella and Irena as joint favourites to win Locky’s heart, with equal odds of $2.50.

Irena and Bella’s extremely short odds suggest some degree of insider knowledge that one of these two women wins.

The Bachelor is filmed in advance and there are plenty of people – including the cast, crew and publicists – who know the outcome.

It’s possible one of these insiders leaked the result, causing a surge in online bets that resulted in Irena and Bella’s odds being slashed significantly.

Alternatively, somebody close to production may have let slip the ending to a friend, partner or family member, who in turn spread the news.
