Big Brother All-Stars: Enzo Palumbo wins banana-riding contest and scores ‘golden power of veto’

Enzo Palumbo won the ‘golden power of veto’ on Wednesday’s episode of Big Brother All-Stars after riding a banana bike to beat five other competitors.

He surprisingly chose not to use the veto to save housemate Kevin Campbell, 40, who’d spent the entire episode campaigning for his support.

‘It’s just too early, man,’ the 42-year-old insurance adjuster told Kevin. ‘It’s too early.’

Kevin had been ’embarrassed’ and dejected when Head of Household Cody Calafiore, 29, nominated him for elimination alongside Keesha Marie Smith, 42, this week.

The ad agency executive entered BB All-Stars to win the $500,000 grand prize so that he and his husband could adopt a child back in Chula Vista, California.

Getting picked for elimination so early was not in his plans, and he tried everything he could think of to stick around, even cornering Enzo and other contestants in the bathroom.

When he asked them for their support, none of them actively promised to back him up.

‘I must have did something wrong,’ Kevin said to himself, looking down.

He approached Cody to implore him to keep him in the game, and Cody considered it.

He didn’t want to burn a bridge that could be useful down the road, and told Kevin he wanted to strengthen their relationship that week.

‘I’m not exactly sure if I trust Cody, but I’m thinking, ”Okay, smooth this over, do not drown, keep swimming”,’ Kevin said in a confessional.

‘This could be the beginning of a ”down-lowmance”,’ he told Cody, who laughed.

Keesha then went to speak to Cody, and asked him why he picked her.

Cody stuttered something about not knowing who to choose, but privately opined, ‘I would rather Keesha be the one going home.’

In a chat with Enzo later, the HoH noted gleefully that ‘alliances are starting to brew.’

The two of them had already formed a solid alliance, and were considering a group with Nicole Franzel, 28, Robert ‘Memphis’ Garrett, 37, and Tyler Crispen, 23.

Tyler was approached by nearly everyone in the house, all of them wanting to be his ally.

‘I guess I have a deal with pretty much everybody,’ the jewelry company owner said. ‘I know down the road, it’s gonna come back to get me. Complete opposite of what I wanted to do.’

Nicole and Ian Terry, 29, who’d known each other for five years and both won Big Brother before, formed an alliance, calling themselves the ‘Million Club.’

‘My top allegiance is to Cody, but I think it’s really important to have a backup plan,’ Nicole confessed.

People started to get a little stir-crazy in the house, which led Ian to tell a small group that no matter how bad it got, he wasn’t going to be spending too much time outside with them.

The management consultant, who announced he was ‘on the spectrum,’ had gotten flack for ‘rocking back and forth’ in the house hammock to soothe himself during BB14.

In Google searches he conducted after completing his season, Ian regularly saw the words, ‘Ian Terry autism,’ and emphasized there was more to him than being on the spectrum.

Da’Vonne Rogers, 32, and Bayleigh Dayton, 27, also formed their own small group.

‘As soon as I saw you, I was like, ”Okay, boom”,’ Da’Vonne told the model. ‘We don’t even have to say the words. It’s me and you obviously.’

‘Your victory is my victory,’ Bayleigh agreed. ‘I really mean that.’

In a confessional, Da’Vonne called their alliance ‘Black girl magic at its best.’

Cody called everyone into a meeting to discuss the veto competition, in which he would participate along with Kevin and Keesha, and three people randomly selected by drawing.

He drew Tyler’s name, while Kevin drew ‘Houseguest’s Choice,’ and picked Enzo, and Keesha drew Ian.

The housemates walked out into their backyard and saw a row of ‘BB Peelatons,’ or huge plastic banana bikes with saddles on them, surrounded by fruits and vegetables.

For the ‘It’s Banana’ game, the group of six would repeatedly do 20 ‘reps’ on their bananas, then get 90 seconds to stack wooden fruits and vegetables into a pile.

The person who stacked the highest pile in the fastest time won, so long as they finished in less than 30 minutes.

Kevin and Keesha both tried hard, but Enzo ultimately won ‘the golden power of veto.’

Kevin hoped Enzo would be grateful that he’d chosen him to participate in the competition, and spoke to Cody about getting Enzo to take him ‘off the block.’

That night, Enzo saw Nicole and Ian talking in the bathroom, and sensed they had an alliance.

He and Cody called Ian a ‘wild threat,’ and thought about eliminating him to save Kevin.

‘Doing something like this would send a huge tsunami through the house,’ Cody reflected.

But in the veto meeting, Enzo decided not to use his veto to save Kevin, claiming ‘It’s just too early.’

He privately added: ‘It’s only week one, and Meow Meow’s still got a lot of game to play.’

Hearing the news, Kevin was down but not out.

‘Not being pulled off the block is not the greatest thing, but I’ve built a relationship with Cody and Enzo,’ he considered.

‘If they can sway the votes in my favor, this All-Star can shine another week,’ Kevin added.

Big Brother All-Stars will return Thursday on CBS with the first eviction.
