Abbie Chatfield says she’s thankful Matt Agnew was her Bachelor and not Locky Gilbert

She was one of the ladies vying for Matt Agnew’s heart on The Bachelor last year.

And Abbie Chatfield is counting her lucky stars that she was in the hunky astrophysicist’s season, and not in Locky Gilbert’s.

On Wednesday, the 25-year-old watched the season eight premiere with friends and shared her unfiltered commentary.

In Locky’s introduction, he talked about his outdoorsy lifestyle, which Abbie was not interested in.

She said in an Instagram video: ‘All I have to say is, thank god I got doctor Matt Agnew.’

‘Imagine if I get there and he’s like “let’s go skydiving and go for like a hike,” she said referring to Locky’s adventurous personality.

She sarcastically continued: ‘Oh, lovely to meet you,’ as her friend in the background jokingly chimed in: ‘I’ve got somewhere to be.’

The Bachelor runner-up sharply quipped: ‘A hotel.’ 

Elsewhere in the video, Abbie showed her eye twitching while watching the ladies meet Locky on the red carpet.

‘I actually can’t stop the twitch. I’m having a trauma response,’ she said.

Last year, Abbie made headlines for her introduction to Matt where she told him that her star sign was a Gemini after he said he was an astrophysicist.

Her remark was in fact a joke that she made that was unfairly edited and taken out of context.

Abbie said she was ‘upset and mortified’ that Channel 10 had presented her joke in the episode as a genuine misunderstanding.

She told News.com.au: ‘[Matt] absolutely understood that it was a joke,’ she explained, clarifying that she made the comment to try and break the ice with laughter.

‘Obviously, a lot more happened off camera, and Matt and I had a really good laugh about it at the time.’
