He confirmed last week that he’s set to portray the legendary Andy Warhol in an upcoming film.

And on Monday, Jared Leto delighted his fans again with news he’s set to star in a third Tron movie.

‘I”m struck with such gratitude for the opportunity to bring this movie to life, especially as both the original video game and the film affected me so deeply as a young child. The fact that I get to be a part of this new chapter is mind-blowing,’ the actor, 48, shared on his Instagram.

It seems Leto’s confirmation was sparked by the news reported Monday morning by Variety that Australian filmmaker Garth Davis has been tapped by Disney to helm the new Tron movie.

Davis is best known for directing the 2016 drama Lion that starred Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel, and for directing Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara in 2018’s Mary Magdalene.

Tron 3, according to Variety, will represent a new installment in the franchise and will not be a direct sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy and 1982’s Tron.

The original Tron gained a cult following with its use of at the time groundbreaking computer graphics to bring to life the story of a computer programmer played by Jeff Bridges who is sucked into a CPU mainframe.

Bridges and his original co-star Bruce Boxleitner returned for the 2010 sequel alongside Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde and Michael Sheen.

His most recent film Morbius, in which he stars with Michael Keaton, had been due out this year but has been pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last Thursday, as he shared multiple photos of late artist Warhol to his Instagram, Leto confirmed he will star in an upcoming biopic.

Back in 2016, the actor and musician had acquired the rights to the Victor Bockris 1989 book, Warhol: The Biography.

Warhol, a complex character who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art, died in 1987 at the age of 58.
