Kem Cetinay ‘quits rowing challenge TV show after ONE day of training’

Kem Cetinay ‘quits rowing challenge TV show after ONE day of training’… as it’s revealed Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon ‘is also lined up for the series’

Kem Cetinay has reportedly quit Freddie Flintoff’s new rowing show after training with the team for just one day.

The Love Island star, 24, was originally keen for the physical challenge of travelling from Land’s End to John O’Groats by boat with 12 other celebrities but decided to drop out at the start of practice, report The Sun.

It comes as it was suggested that Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon, 24, is set to join the crew of Don’t Rock The Boat in her first TV gig since leaving the cobbles.

It is not clear if Lucy is replacing Kem, or if the actress is already part of the 12-strong team trying to row hundreds of miles.

Speaking about Kem’s exit from the upcoming show, which is set to air before the end of 2020, an insider said that the demands of the series proved too much.

They said: ‘Kem loves keeping fit and the idea of rowing 650 miles with a load of other stars seemed like a good laugh.

‘But when it came down to the actual task the prospect of it proved too much and he left on the first day of training.’

However a pal of the reality star told the Sun Kem pulled out because of a schedule conflict after realising that he had already committed to doing Soccer Aid.

The friend said it had been a ‘tough competition’ and that Kem had decided it ‘wasn’t for him’ after trying it out on the first day of training.

Another celeb said to be up for the rowing challenge is Corrie’s Lucy Fallon, who will be marking her first TV job since leaving the soap.

Lucy, known for her role as Bethany Platt and left the show in May 2019 after a five-year stint, is thought to be excited about her new challenge on Don’t Rock The Boat.

A TV source told The Mirror: ‘Lucy was in hot demand after winning numerous awards. ITV were desperate to work with her again.

‘Lucy thought it sounded like the adventure of a lifetime. It’s been described as a mix of I’m a Celebrity and SAS: Who Dares Wins… only harder.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Kem and Lucy to ask for a comment.

In an interview, the actress, who announced her departure to pursue ‘other projects’, has already said that while she wants to ‘spread my wings’, she’d ‘go back to Corrie in the future if they will have me’.

The soap star told The Sun: ‘Obviously Covid-19 has thrown it all up in the air now. I’m very conscious of the fact that I don’t want it to sound like I see going back to Corrie as a back-up — that’s absolutely not how it is.

‘I absolutely love that show and I would do it a thousand times over and I obviously would 100 per cent go back there in future if they will have me. Corrie is the only part I’ve ever auditioned for… but I know that’s not always going to happen.’
