Katie Price’s terminally ill mother Amy has been inspiring her to keep positive after breaking feet

Katie Price has had a tough time of late following the death of her family dog, Rolo and breaking both feet in a freak accident while on holiday in Turkey.

But her terminally ill mother, Amy, who was diagnosed with lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, has been helping Katie to keep a positive mindset after she was left unable to walk for up to two years after jumping off a wall.

A source told The Sun: ‘Katie’s mum has been amazing since the accident – a total superstar.

‘She is my total rock’: Katie Price’s terminally ill mother Amy has been inspiring her to keep positive as she recovers from breaking both feet – she shared this post on Instagram on Sunday

‘As well as supporting her with many of the jobs she has had to do at home, Amy has been an emotional rock. She has insisted to Katie that this is just a blip and she will get over it.

‘It has helped keep Katie in a really positive mindset at what is naturally a really, really tough time for her and given her a massive boost.’

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Katie for further comment.

‘Love my mum so much, she is my actual total rock!’

Katie recently revealed she had received some ‘devastating news’, amid claims that she won’t be able to walk for six months.

However it has now been reported that a full recovery may apparently not be likely for the mother-of-five for another two years, a source told the Sun.

The insider revealed: ‘The recovery could take up to two years. She won’t even be walking around until well into 2021. She’s really upset and can’t believe it’s this bad.’

The reality star was pictured being wheeled into the Fortius clinic in West London for a consultation, and in an Instagram update revealed she’s ‘gutted’ by the prognosis.

In the post she shared with fans on Instagram, Katie wrote: ‘Just finished my appointment with my consultant and surgeon about my feet.

‘After further scans, the news is absolutely devastating. I’m gutted.’

A source confirmed to MailOnline: ‘On her return to the UK and having been re examined by the Fortius Clinic and under the care of Freddie Murray, her rehabilitation coach, Katie’s full recovery is anticipated to run over 18 months.’

Katie recently explained she broke her ankles and feet during a ‘silly accident’ while on holiday with her beau Carl Woods, 31, and her kids Princess, 13, and Junior, 15.

Taking to her YouTube channel, the star explained: ‘Silly me, at my age, should calm things down. Basically, silly little accident. I was running and jumped over a wall, as it was a little shortcut, and didn’t really judge the height.

‘I just sort of fell funny on my ankles and I fractured the hairline on my heels and stuff. The hospital here wanted to operate and wanted to put pins in and stuff. Because I’m away, I’d rather wait until I get home.’

She continued: ‘It’s the most painful thing ever. Like when I was trying to put the cast on, I was screaming in pain. They said I won’t be able to walk for three to six months.’

Katie was rushed to A&E in Turkey last week for emergency surgery after doctors realised the extent of her horrific injuries.

The TV personality had to spend a night in hospital after fracturing both ankles after she jumped off a wall at the holiday theme park, Land Of Legends.

According to doctors, she will need pins in her feet which will undoubtedly be another agonising experience.

Katie thought she might have to cut her holiday short to head home with her new Love Island beau, Carl Woods.

However, she decided to endure the pain and ride it out in Turkey for the sake of her children so that they could enjoy the rest of their holiday.

Carl has been by Katie’s side throughout the ordeal, and as they arrived back home on Wednesday it’s been revealed the smitten pair are planning to move in together.
