The Masked Singer judges will be separated by towering perspex dividers as the show introduces new safety measures amid COVID-19

It’s the popular Channel 10 show set to return to television this week.

And it appears production company Warner Bros has gone to extreme efforts to ensure the safety of their on-air talent amid the global pandemic.

This year’s judges will be separated by dividers to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while filming the show.

On Sunday, Jackie ‘O’ told The Daily Telegraph that she had spoken in length with Channel 10 about safety measures ahead of filming the show.

Jackie explained: ‘For sure [I would have stayed in Sydney], there’s no way I would want to risk my health for a TV show.’

‘I’ve had many conversations with Channel 10 about this because I take that seriously and you hear on the news about Victoria’s rising cases.’

Jackie, who is living in an apartment in Melbourne during filming, also expressed her beliefs that people weren’t taking the virus seriously.

The last weeks have seen COVID-19 cases spiral in Victoria, with Premier Daniel Andrews forcing the state back into lockdown, making masks mandatory in public spaces and imposing an 8pm curfew.

As a result, The Masked Singer’s producers have set up a ‘production bubble’ to keep cast and crew safe from the deadly virus.

Jackie’s statements come just days after she was caught on the set of The Masked Singer without a face mask.

The network released its latest trailer for the zany show, in which judge Dave Hughes jokes about the benefits of the pandemic.

‘Everyone is stuck here in this country so it’s more likely to be big stars this year,’ the 49-year-old funnyman says.
