Piers lent on the table with a glass of white wine in hand as he sat alongside the 87-year-old actress.

Joan cut a very stylish figure in a long-sleeve yellow bandeau which she paired with a statement necklace and a chiffon headband.

Piers uploaded the sweet snap alongside a caption that read: ‘She can’t get enough of me! Holiday dinner No5 with the fabulously glamorous & hilariously irrepressible Dame @joancollinsdbe at one of our favourite beach restaurants – Les Graniers in St Tropez.

‘As always with Joan, a most amusing evening.’

Earlier on during his trip, Piers ended up on crutches after tearing a tendon on the second day of his six-week family holiday.

The presenter shared a snap of himself using the crutches on Monday while stood alongside his sons Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Albert, 19.

Alongside the photo, he wrote: ‘Peg-leg. (nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday) ⁦#StTropez’.

The broadcaster’s recent injury came at the worst possible time as he booked the summer off his hosting duties on Good Morning Britain to enjoy the South of France.

However, the injury didn’t seem to have dampened Piers’ spirits as he enjoyed a star studded lunch with Britain’s Got Talent host Amanda Holden last month.

Amanda took to Instagram and shared a snap of the pair during their reunion as she posed with a group of young fans while Piers took the photo for her.

Alongside the post, she wrote: ‘thrilled to be known & asked for a photo from these lovely children from the #netherlands and the #photographer @piersmorgan (no clue who he is @bgt)’.

Amanda looked radiant as she donned a pink and white patterned mini dress with a deep v-neckline along with a sun hat.
