TV legend Patti Newton shares a heartbreaking photo as 18-month-old granddaughter Perla is taken to hospital after ‘not feeling well’
Patti Newton’s granddaughter Perla was taken to Melbourne’s The Royal Children’s Hospital on Sunday.
The TV legend shared a heartbreaking photo to Instagram of the 18-month-old being looked after by ambulance staff.
Patti, 75, revealed Perla is now ‘back at home and taking it easy’ after feeling unwell.

‘Perla wasn’t well, the ambulance guys were so wonderful as were the doctors and nurses at the Children’s Hospital,’ Patti wrote alongside the photo.
‘She’s home and taking it easy, [it’s] not serious, [we’re] so lucky,’ she continued, going on to thank The Royal Children’s Hospital and Ambulance Victoria.
The photo saw Perla, the daughter of Patti and Bert’s daughter Lauren Newton, lying on a couch in the family home with tubes attached to her chest.

It’s not known what caused Perla to feel unwell, but Lauren has since revealed she is back home and ‘doing well’.
Patti also revealed in the comments section of the post that Lauren is still in hospital due to pregnancy complications.
Lauren also shared the same photo of Perla to her Instagram page, and wrote in the caption: ‘Thanks to Ambulance Victoria and The Royal Children’s Hospital for looking after Perla so well. She is home and doing well now.

‘So hard to not be with her, but as usual my amazing family looked after her so well. I can’t wait to be able to cuddle her again.’
Lauren, 40, was admitted to the hospital over seven weeks ago due to complications with her sixth pregnancy.
In a heartfelt post shared to Instagram at the time, Lauren said: ‘Missing my gorgeous babies. It’s been five weeks so far of not seeing them while I’m in hospital due to pregnancy complications.’
