Lady Gaga accidentally scratches Ariana Grande’s eye during dance rehearsal for Rain On Me

Lady Gaga gave fans on Instagram a look at ‘some of the fun’ she and Ariana Grande had making the music video for their infectious track Rain On Me on Thursday.

And in the behind-the-scenes footage, it was revealed that, during their dance rehearsal for the music video, Gaga accidentally scratched Grande’s eye with her sharp manicure. 

‘I shanked her with my nail by accident [while] dancing,’ admitted Gaga, 34, regrettably to her choreographer Richard Jackson, while Grande, 27, checked out her injured eye in her phone’s front camera. 

‘Lady Gaga scratched my eye. It’s an honor. I hope it scars,’ joked Grande, as she laid out on the dance floor.

Ariana attempted to shake off the scratch, but Gaga went full mama bear mode and insisted the Dangerous Woman singer apply some Neosporin to her injury.

‘You scratched my eye,’ repeated Grande in a mocking tone, to which Gaga replied: ‘You scratched my heart.’

While Gaga was on the hunt for Neosporin, Ariana continued to marvel at her scratch and she playfully admitted to nearby cameramen that she ‘hopes it stays forever.’

‘It looks hard. It looks like I was in an action movie,’ continued Grande, before being pranced on by a Neosporin wielding Lady Gaga. 

The pop duo wrestled on the ground, but Ariana was able to evade Gaga by resting on her stomach with her head in her arms.

‘You have a scratch on your face! You can’t get infected before the video! Please let me put some Neosporin on it!,’ screamed Gaga as she chased Ariana out of the studio.

Shortly after Gaga posted the hilarious behind-the-scenes clip, Ariana uploaded a selfie showing off her now infamous scratch on her Instagram Story.

Aside from Gaga’s accidental nail attack, the footage also showed the pop divas dressed to the nines on their first day of filming.

Gaga could be seen gyrating on a water soaked floor as a camera hovered over her.

‘Can someone re-do my makeup,’ she asked her crew, while dripping wet. 

Once the Born This Way songstress was done filming her solo scenes for the music video, Ariana was brought in for her part.

Gaga joked that Ariana’s parents were going to be horrified by the elaborate makeup and costumes in the video, but Ariana assured her that her parents would be happy to see her ‘not wearing a sweatshirt’ for once.

While watching back footage, Gaga complimented Ariana for her dance moves and playfully reminded Ariana that she initially ‘did not want to show her butt’ on camera.

‘I left it open,’ replied Ariana, whose dress happened to be backless. 

The pair exchanged plenty of cute moments on set, including an impromptu gift from Ariana that almost made the Just Dance singer cry.   

Ariana and Lady Gaga debuted their first joint track Rain On Me in May, mere days before the highly anticipated release of Gaga’s album Chromatica.

It was announced earlier this week that the Rain On Me video earned seven MTV Video Music Award nominations, including Video Of The Year and Song Of The Year.
