Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli has entered the history books.
This week, the Nova FM personality broke the Guinness World Record for the longest ever Hot Wheels track at an impressive 751.130 meters.
He explained his surprising victory during a lengthy segment on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa on Thursday morning.

‘What a dream it’s been, what a journey it’s been,’ he told co-host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.
‘I thought, “how can we bring some inspiration to 2020?” We break a world record, we pinch it from the States and we celebrate as a nation, the Prime Minister is behind it. It’s the story of a team with a dream.
‘Well done everybody, we have worked our bum off for this award! For too long, Pennsylvania, a small town called Forster has celebrated and felt safe in their world record until we turned up today! Australia, it’s a brand new world record!’
Wippa had previously attempted the record twice before.

Earlier this week, he revealed that his furious wife, Lisa, had asked him to ‘move out’ over the weekend, after he posted a very unflattering picture of her to Instagram.
Speaking on his Nova FM breakfast show on Monday, the 40-year-old radio host said he was ‘in the doghouse’ after sharing the photo of Lisa looking eerily like late pop star Michael Jackson while they were enjoying a day out in Sydney’s Rose Bay.
‘When I took this photo with Lisa, I looked at it and I thought, “Oh my god, if I zoom in a little bit… that’s Michael Jackson!”‘ he chuckled.

His co-host Sarah McGilvray couldn’t get over the likeness, saying: ‘It’s phenomenal!’
But Wippa admitted the trouble really started when they got home.
He said: ‘It was just when I posted it yesterday afternoon, she was upstairs trying to settle Francesca [their daughter] and then I hear a head poking out the door, “Michael!” I thought, “Got her a beauty; I reckon I know why she’s yelling!”‘

Wippa continued: ‘I’ve had 100 messages of people saying, “You’re dead! You’re getting a divorce!” One bloke wrote, “There’s only 10 people at your funeral, sorry mate, put your list together now!”‘
He admitted that he knew he was going to be in trouble before he posted the image, but thought it was too good an opportunity to let slip by.
‘Normally I would’ve had to get it approved [by Lisa],’ he said.

‘I thought I was never gonna get that past the gate! I had to go for forgiveness over approval because I was never going to get approval!’
Wippa then joked that he might be needing a place to crash for a while.
‘Anyway, I’ve had to move out. I was wondering if I could come and stay at your place?’ he asked his co-host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.

Wippa shared the image with his 54,000 Instagram followers on Sunday, and captioned it: ‘He’s alive! Michael Jackson spotted in Rose Bay, Sydney.’
