Glamorous Nine News reporter Lana Murphy finally explains THAT F-bomb – and reveals how her boss reacted to the embarrassing on-air gaffe
Journalist Lana Murphy went viral earlier this week after she casually dropped the F-bomb on Nine News Melbourne.
And the reporter has since explained what really happened, saying it wasn’t actually a live broadcast but a pre-recorded segment that should never have made it to air.
On Tuesday, Murphy tweeted her apologies and confirmed that she hadn’t been fired for the gaffe because it wasn’t her fault.

‘Thanks for the love and apologies to those who got more than they bargained for on Nine News Melbourne,’ she tweeted.
‘Unfortunately the wrong version (clearly) of a pre-record made it to air but thankfully I have a great boss and I’ll be back on your screens tomorrow.

Earlier this week, a pre-recorded blooper of Murphy swearing was played instead of the final version that was supposed to air.
She was reporting on Victoria’s coronavirus crisis when she stumbled over her words and sheepishly told someone off camera: ‘F**k my life!’
Thinking the camera had stopped rolling, she began fussing with her hair before the segment cut back to Alicia Loxley in the Nine News studio.

Nonetheless, amused viewers in Melbourne saw the fun in the blooper and likened Lana’s accidental slip-up to how they were feeling amid their new lockdown rules.
