The Masked Singer judge Jackie ‘O’ Henderson hints that Zac Efron is going to appear on the show

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson hints that Zac Efron IS going to appear on The Masked Singer – as Hollywood star continues to keep a low profile in Byron Bay

Hollywood actor Zac Efron has been quietly living in Byron Bay for the past few months to escape the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States.

And now rumours are swirling he is set to appear on The Masked Singer Australia, which is currently being filmed in Melbourne.

Adding fuel to the fire, judge Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has hinted that the 32-year-old heartthrob could indeed be one of the famous faces under the mask.

‘All I know is that, because of the pandemic, we won’t have any international stars on the show – unless they’re already in Australia,’ the 45-year-old radio presenter told WHO magazine.

‘I mean, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are here, right? So is Zac Efron. So you never know who might turn up.’

Given that he is currently based in Australia and he has a singing background, having appeared in Hairspray and High School Musical, Zac would no doubt be a shoe in for a spot on the hit series.

What’s more, Channel 10 added to speculation that Zac could be appearing on the series, hinting that a ‘Hollywood star’ is one of singers in the latest trailer.

This wouldn’t be Zac’s first foray into reality TV, as he recently filmed a series titled Killing Zac Efron, which saw him explore the jungles of Papua New Guinea.

And last month it was rumoured that the Baywatch star is in talks top appear on the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, which is being filmed locally next year for the first time after COVID-19 travel restrictions ruled out production in South Africa.

However, a spokesperson for Zac revealed in July that his extended stay in Australia wasn’t related to any film or television role.

‘He is not there for work,’ they told The Daily Telegraph last month, confirming that he was in the country solely for personal reasons.

Sounds like fans will just have to wait and see if he is under one of the masks.

The Masked Singer starts August 10 on Channel 10.
