Stan confirms premiere date for brand new crime series Power Book II: Ghost starring Mary J. Blige and Michael Rainey Jr
Streaming service Stan has announced crime series Power Book II: Ghost will premiere on September 6.
The 10-episode sequel to popular series Power, was produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and Courtney A. Kemp and stars Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Mary J Blige and LaToya Tonodeo.
‘We are thrilled to bring the fans the next chapter in the Power Universe with Power Book II: Ghost,’ executive producer Courtney said.

‘We know they have been waiting too long to rejoin Tasha and Tariq as he navigates the criminal world and the academic world without ever taking his eyes off the prize: his mother’s freedom.’
‘Along with reconnecting with some old favourites, we are excited for the audience to meet a host of new characters, including powerful allies like Method Man’s Davis MacLean and potential foes like Mary J. Blige’s Monet Tejada,’ she said.
Executive producer, 50 Cent added: ‘We can’t wait for the fans to see what is in store for all of the characters they know and those they are about to meet’.

A trailer for the new series begins shortly after the explosive ending of the first series, with Tariq, played by Michael Rainey, Jr. grappling with his father’s death as he watches his coffin be lowered into the ground.
His mother Tasha, played by Naturi Naughton, is seen being questioned in her orange prison jumpsuit following her arrest for a murder she didn’t commit.
‘Was someone else there with you – was it your son?’ she’s interrogated.
Cutting to Tariq, he declares to not stop until Tasha is free. ‘I have to do anything to help my mother,’ he says.

Splitting his time between his Ivy League university education and making money to pay for Tasha’s defence lawyer, Tariq will be forced to return to the familiar drug trade.
The action-packed trailer shows a sequence of money and guns exchanging hands before concluding with authorities closing in on Tariq.
