The Block’s Tess Struber delivers a dire warning to next season’s contestants after filming the show put a strain on her marriage to husband Luke

She walked away with a cool $730,000 after winning The Block last year with husband Luke.

But on Tuesday, Tess Struber delivered a dire warning to next season’s contestants.

‘There’s nothing you can do to prepare yourself,’ the 28-year-old warned in a video shared to 9Now.

‘Stick to your guns — if there’s something that you want to do and everyone is questioning you about it, don’t listen, just do it,’ she advised.

‘Try your hardest to have fun, even when you’re having a day when you are literally in the foetal position gasping for air and choking on your snot and tears — try and have fun, because it is fun, you just need to breathe and let it go a little bit,’ she added.

At the time of their win in November, the newlyweds admitted they had struggled to keep their marriage alive with the pressure of the show.

The Queensland couple only tied the knot a few months before they began their time on The Block and struggled to keep their cool.

At one point during ‘Hell Week’ Tess walked off the set and declared she was ‘ready to go’.

The pair told 9Entertainment after their win that their ultimate goal before filming began was for their marriage to survive.

Luke admitted: ‘The main objective was to stay married.’

‘My marriage is more important to me than making a TV show,’ she said, adding that all she wanted was time and space with Luke away from the cameras.

But now as the pair reflected on what they have learnt from their time on the show, Luke was positive about the experience.

Worth it in the end: The couple ended up walking away with a cool $630,000, on top of the $100,000 cash prize after winning The Block last year
