Cody Simpson’s mum complains her son and his girlfriend Miley Cyrus can’t attend her 50th birthday

They’re a notoriously tight-knit family, but Cody Simpson’s family has been forced to separate due to coronavirus, with the pop star living away from his clan in Los Angeles with girlfriend, Miley Cyrus. 

On Tuesday, Angie Simpson took to Instagram to complain that her son Cody, 23, and his partner, Miley, 27, are unable to attend her upcoming 50th birthday next month.

‘F**K Corona for keeping me from you guys and knowing you can’t get here now for my 50th next month,’ she wrote, alongside an angry-face emoji.

The mother-of-three then hinted the trio will instead ring in the celebration over video call, before adding the hashtag ‘#facetimecelebrations’.

She added ‘Miss you so much!’, to which Cody promptly replied that he also missed his mother.

While Cody would be able to travel to Australia, subject to mandatory quarantine for 14 days at a hotel, current rules would restrict his girlfriend entering.

Angie has been living on the Gold Coast with her husband Brad, daughter, Alli, 22, and youngest son Tom, 19.

Her post comes just days after the Surfboard singer admitted he was ‘in love’ with Miely while sharing a sweet photo with the Malibu hitmaker. 

Cody and Miley first started dating in October 2019, after she split from Kaitlynn Carter and months after she filed for divorce from Liam Hemsworth.

The couple, who will celebrate their one-year anniversary in just two months, have been living in the lap of luxury and supporting each other’s sobriety. 

Back in February, Cody revealed he is also sober, while speaking to InStyle Australia.  

‘Now I’m more interested in immersion and feeling good, sharp, open and clear. I found that being sober helps with that a lot,’ Cody explained.
