Carrie Bickmore’s daughter Evie shares a sweet message to Victorians amid COVID-19 lockdown

‘Dan Andrews is keeping us safe!’ Carrie Bickmore’s daughter Evie, five, shares a sweet message to Victorians amid stage 4 coronavirus restrictions

Carrie Bickmore melted hearts by sharing footage of her daughter Evie, five, singing a song about hygiene amid the COVID-19 pandemic in March.

And The Project host, 39, has now shared Evie’s latest pearls of wisdom, following Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ decision to implement stage 4 restrictions across the state this week.

‘Everyone knows it’s the right thing,’ Melbourne-based Carrie said during Monday’s episode of The Project.

‘As Evie, who’s five, had the insight to say to [my son] Ollie, ‘He’s just trying to keep us safe, Ollie, he’s just trying to keep us safe’,’ she continued.

Carrie also revealed how her family is coping during this difficult time.

‘I think yesterday was a really interesting day, especially in our household. I noticed the kids really struggling for the first time,’ she confessed.

‘I think the idea of another six weeks not seeing their friends, not at school… just this feeling of ‘what is this world we’re in?’ Carrie added.

Carrie shares two daughters, Evie, five, and Adelaide, one, with partner Chris Walker.

The sisters join older brother Oliver, 12, who she had with her late husband Greg Lange.

In March, Carrie uploaded an Instagram video of Evie singing a song about keeping her hands clean.

In the video, little Evie is heard singing: ‘Wash, wash, wash your hands. Washing is so much fun. Use your hands, fist your wrist. Keep your germs on the run’.

The Logie award-winner then flipped the camera towards her, saying: ‘In case you need a new song for your kids to sing while washing their hands’.

Carrie went on to urge her followers: ‘Stay home and keep two arms length apart,’ before she concluded: ‘Let’s do what we can to keep our country safe’.
