Katie Holmes looks effortlessly chic as she hauls a large portrait back to her NYC apartment

Katie Holmes proudly carried home a large $225 antique portrait, which originated from the early 1900s, on Friday. 

As she toted the unique piece home, the 41-year-old actress looked effortlessly chic in a white t-shirt and cool pair of wide-legged utility pants in Downtown Manhattan. 

After her successful antiquing trip, Katie could be seen using both hands to keep a tight hold on the new addition to her at-home gallery. 

For her outing, the All We Had star kept the majority of her famous face hidden under a leopard CDC-recommended face mask and dark shades.  

On her way home, the Dawson’s Creek alum, who kept her dark tresses in a tousled bun, glided down the sidewalk in her stylish black sandals with ease. 

Holmes recently opened up about life in lockdown with the 14-year-old in an interview for Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph. 

The star revealed how quarantining with Suri in New York has made her ‘look at everything’ she has, and celebrate simple tasks. 

‘I like to keep her out of my interviews, but I will say that this time of quarantine has been such a lesson,’ Katie told the publication via a video conference app. 

‘Just really looking at everything you have and celebrating the simplicity of making dinner and [spending] that time together.’ 

The star, who shot to fame in the beloved American teen drama series Dawson’s Creek from the Nineties, went on to reveal how she feels ‘very blessed’ with her life. 

‘When I think about my life, I feel very blessed. I have felt very lucky and I rely on my instincts a lot, but I also forgive myself for mistakes.’

Katie wed Tom in 2006, welcoming Suri in April of that year. The couple split in 2012.   

She and her longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx, who were first romantically linked in 2013, spilt last summer after six years of dating.  

Amid the ongoing coronavirus, Holmes has stayed busy promoting her new film, The Secret: Dare to Dream, based on Rhonda Byrne’s 2006 self-help book. 

Katie plays Miranda Wells, a widow with three children who is struggling to provide financially and emotionally.

‘She’s really struggling to provide financially and emotionally, and you just see her exhausted and really not surrendering to anything, just kind of fighting it all,’ she told ET.   

Katie added that watching the character go from that to finding hope was ‘really powerful.’ 

The film was available on streaming platforms on Friday.
