Dua Lipa shares adorable pictures of rescue puppy Dexter with boyfriend Anwar Hadid

She recently enjoyed a sun-drenched getaway to St Lucia with her boyfriend Anwar Hadid.

And Dua Lipa took her relationship to the next level as she announced the arrival of their black rescue puppy Dexter with a set of adorable snaps on Friday. 

The singer, 24, posted a sweet picture of the couple with the ‘tiny best friend’, after they adopted the pup from The Labelle Foundation in Los Angeles, California. 

A fresh-faced Dua looked radiant as she pouted in the playful selfie wearing a black tank top and gold necklace with 21-year-old model Anwar. 

She titled the post on Instagram: ‘Our tiny best friend Dexter!!! thank you @thelabellefoundation HE’S PERFECT.’ 

The songstress shared six pictures of their tiny short-haired pup wearing a blue fleece and matching collar. 

And Dexter appeared to be settling into his surroundings as he was pictured in a flower bed, before curling up on Dua’s lap to take a snooze from the excitement. 

Anwar also posted a collection of pictures with Dexter who was seen on Dua’s lap while the model drove the couple through L.A. 

The model wrote: ‘Our spirit companion came to us with a big number 7 on his chest.. some things are meant 2 be !!!!!!! BIIG DEX.’ 

Anwar shared a picture of Dexter taking a nap on his tattooed chest before he shared a snap of a number 7 inking behind his ear. 

Last month, the New Rules singer revealed she’d finally returned to America with Anwar following an idyllic getaway on the island of St Lucia. 

The young couple were welcomed back by Anwar’s mother Yolanda with a heartfelt post uploaded to Instagram. 

Despite being eager to return, the couple had to quarantine in the Caribbean beforehand to isolate as Dua is not a registered US citizen. 

They had originally been holed up in ‘a random Airbnb’ in London, after the award-winning belter returned home from her Australian tour to find her flat flooded.  

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Dua, who has just released her second album, said things are going well as she enjoys some rare downtime with Anwar.

‘I’m still in the airbnb, it’s all good,’ she told the ITV show. ‘My boyfriend and I are used to it, we travel a lot so we can make anywhere home. 

‘I got back from Australia and when the self-isolation thing started to happen, I quickly had to find a spot.’  

Meanwhile Dua has much to celebrate as she leads the British nominations at this year’s MTV VMA Awards, which were announced on Thursday.

The singer is hoping to secure her first awards at the event after being nominated in four categories, and she joins the likes of Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi to receive nods at the prestigious event.
