Another user advised: ‘Snack ‘n’ snuggle with the cat after breakfast. 15 minutes of strokes and chat – Dreamies and coffee issued – sets us both up for the day.’

Others shared how their morning routine has improved by waking up slightly earlier, in the morning to ‘mentally prepare myself for the day’, making lists of what you want to achieve throughout the day, and sticking to a routine.

One said: ‘A morning routine has made heaps of difference to me but only since lockdown. I have a very flexible job and working from home now full time time – even before Covid I worked from home several days per week.

‘If I follow my morning routine I am more productive, better set up for the day and just more settled.

‘It isn’t very complicated but includes time to sit and make a list of what I need to achieve for the day, have some quiet time with a book or some music and drink plenty of water.

Another agreed: ‘Getting up 10 minutes earlier to have a cup of tea and slowly wake up; mentally prepare myself for the day compared to alarm going off and rushing into the shower and into work. I start the day much happier and more together.’
