EXCLUSIVE: Meet the man behind the voice of Big Brother Australia – and you definitely will have heard him before

Big Brother had a new voice this year, but there’s a good chance it wasn’t the first time viewers had heard it on television.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that the mystery voice actor behind Channel Seven’s reboot is Chris Coucouvinis.

Chris is the head announcer for Sydney’s FBi Radio and has also voiced countless advertisements over the years.

He has previously done voice-over work for the likes of ANZ Bank, Tourism Australia, Canon, Aldi and Lindt.

Chris ‘lives and breathes music and sound’, his online bio states, and he endeavours to ‘deliver ambitious audio that cuts through with clarity’ for his clients.

He particularly enjoyed being the voice of Big Brother because it allowed him to improvise and have fun with the contestants.

He often joked around with the housemates, and at one point during filming learned ‘street talk’ with Chad Hurst.

Last month, host Sonia Kruger admitted that the narrator behind Big Brother was actually ‘quite cute’ in real life.

‘He is a bit of an international man of mystery, to be honest. He is very mischievous, and it’s hard to talk about him as a real person,’ she told The Sunday Telegraph.

Sonia didn’t reveal the identity of the man behind Big Brother’s voice at the time. 

She added: ‘He is quite cute… I can tell you that much.’
