All the clues behind the celebrities set to appear on The Masked Singer

The Masked Singer Australia returns with its second season on August 10.

Ahead of the show’s premiere, Channel 10 have shared vague clues on their official social media pages as to who some of the mystery celebrities could be.

There will be a total of 12 stars competing on the show in costumes, and fans are already convinced they know who some of the masked contestants are. 

Here is a list of all the official costumes and clues released so far.

THE WIZARD 

The Masked Singer revealed the first clue about who is inside the Wizard costume on Tuesday.

The footage started with the Wizard spinning around in a robe with gold trimmings and a hat featuring plants and mushrooms on top of it.

An altered male voice gave the first clue: ‘My childhood neighbours hated my singing voice, but who’s having the last laugh now?’

Fans are convinced that the celebrity under the hat is former Neighbours star, Jason Donovan.

THE ECHIDNA 

‘I only know one way to go. Pedal to the metal. From start to finish,’ an altered male voice revealed for the mystery Echidna star.

Footage shows the creature cradling a bassinet with one hand and using DJ equipment with the other.

Fans believe the celebrity behind the mask could be Grant Denyer or former Olympic sprinter John Steffensen.

THE DRAGONFLY 

In a teaser trailer shared to Instagram, Dragonfly pirouetted in a bright costume with wings while wearing wedged heels and purple fitted tights.

An altered female voice said: ‘I may be classically trained, but I’m famous for some other moves.’

Fans have suggested it could be theater performer Lucy Durak, opera trained singer Kate Miller-Heidke or Emma Watkins from The Wiggles.

THE FRILLNECK LIZARD  

‘He’d stick his neck out for you in a pinch,’ Channel 10 teased in Frillneck’s trailer, revealing the contestant was male.

In the footage, a muscular physique strutted down the runway in leather pants that appeared to have body armour similar to motorbike protective gear.

‘I’ve always been a stand up guy, who hangs with birds of a feather,’ the voice said.

People believe Frillneck could be stand-up comedians and radio hosts Sam Pang, Ed Kavalee or Tommy Little, or former rugby star-turned-TV host Beau Ryan.

THE HAMMERHEAD

‘I’ve never started a fight, but I’ve always nailed them in the head,’ the voice hinted.

The footage shows Hammerhead breaking up a fight between two security guards in a pool before hammering a nail into a wall.

Fans are convinced the celebrity behind this mask is The Block host Scott Cam.

THE BUSHRANGER

The Masked Singer finally revealed the first clue about who is inside the Bushranger costume on Thursday.

‘My voice is wanted, dead or alive,’ the clue revealed.

Fans have suggested it could be retired Australian race car driver, Todd Kelly.

THE CACTUS

‘When they hear my voice, they’ll be yelling “you grow girl”,’ the mystery voice said.

In another teaser, the celebrity added: ‘I’m dangerous, but I would rather keep that private.’

Fans have suggested the celebrity under the Cactus costume could be actress Ruby Rose or Hi-5’s Charli Robinson.

THE QUEEN

In a post on the show’s Instagram page, The Masked Singer introduced fans to The Queen.

‘Royalty has arrived to The Masked Singer. Meet Queen! Who is under the mask?’ they captioned the post.

‘I’ll rule the stage,’ said Queen in the short trailer.

Guesses for this contestant ranged from multi-talented performers such as Courtney Act and Lucy Durack.
