‘I like to think that whatever that may happen to me has happened for a reason. That I’m a vessel. So I can inspire and help those who have struggled too.

‘I haven’t opened up too much about my struggles because I have always still been dealing with them. I wanted to get to a strong place first to talk on them.’

Demi explained: ‘From dealing with abuse as a child, to going through bullying at school, getting hurt by relationships that you never thought you would of and dealing with major grief, losing two people I loved the most.

‘To this day, I’m still trying to let all of that go but I’m acknowledging that all of that shaped me into who I am today.’

Strength: Demi concluded her statements with: 'So here's to picking yourself up, having faith in all that's to come, remembering your core and your divine essence'

‘I just thought I’d film the rest of it as me getting upset. I just want you guys to know that Instagram isn’t reality. We all have emotions and not everyone posts them.

‘As someone in the public eye, I just want to let you know I am not a superhuman, I am just a human. I have feelings too.

‘I love you guys so much, I just hope that me being like this and being open can inspire you. Hopefully you can relate. Just so you know, it’s OK not to be OK.’

She added: ‘I’m feeling a lot better after letting go, dealing with emotions. There’s so much darkness in the world, all you have to do is spread your light and be as light as possible.’

She previously said: ‘I find this time is really healing. I’ve never had the chance to sit here, not be able to move. I kind of sweep it under the carpet and get on with it. I’ve had time to think about things I haven’t really got over, I’ve never really grieved.

‘I’m trying to think about the positives with this time. If you’re feeling a lot, you’re trapped in your home, trapped with your thoughts, try and think about it like you need to feel this way, get over it to be better.’

Demi soared to fame in 2016 after she was romantically linked to Kylie Jenner’s ex Tyga, she has since established a successful modelling career and has 14.2 million followers.
