It was reported last week that the theatrical release of his film The French Dispatch, directed by Wes Anderson, had been ‘postponed indefinitely’ due to COVID-19.

But Timothee Chalamet had his impending portrayal of music icon Bob Dylan on his mind as he headed to a guitar lesson in New York City on Monday afternoon.

The 24-year-old actor was accompanied by his father Marc as he loaded his hefty Gibson guitar case into a black sports car.

Timothee let his famous brunette locks flow out from under a navy blue San Diego Padres baseball cap.  

He cut a casual figure in a dark green tee and a pair of teal drawstring joggers that tapered at the ankles.

On his feet, Chalamet sported a pair of white Adidas Ultra Boosts.

The Call Me By Your Name star had a single gold chain fastened around his neck and a bracelet on his right wrist.

It was announced in January that Chalamet would be portraying Bob Dylan in the music icon’s impending biopic Going Electric, which – prior to the pandemic – was set to hit theaters sometime in 2021.

According to Deadline, Timothee has been taking guitar lessons so he can properly ‘familiarize himself with the acoustic and electric guitar.’

On Sunday, Deadline reported that Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated film The French Dispatch was officially changed to ‘unset’ on Disney’s theatrical release calendar.

The film was originally slated for a July 24 release, but was pushed back to October 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But now fans of Chalamet and Anderson will have to wait even longer to see the film, which also stars Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Elisabeth Moss.
