Big Brother stars are ‘livid’ as Kieran Davidson gets verified on Instagram

Big Brother EXCLUSIVE: Housemates are ‘livid’ as Kieran Davidson becomes the first star to be verified on Instagram – as they compete to launch influencer careers

Big Brother’s Chad Hurst may have won the $230,000 prize when he received the majority of the votes during last week’s grand finale.

But it turns out the real winner was ‘mastermind’ Kieran Davidson, who has become the first housemate to be verified on Instagram.

As the stars compete for lucrative sponsorships, some of Kieran’s former rivals are ‘livid’ that he has an early advantage by getting a blue tick.

‘That’s not fair!’: EXCLUSIVE: Big Brother stars are ‘livid’ after ‘mastermind’ Kieran Davidson (pictured) became the first housemate to get verified on Instagram after the show concluded

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia after learning that Kieran had received a ‘money-can’t-buy’ verification tick, a frustrated Sarah McDougal said: ‘It’s not fair! We were livid when we found out.’

The 19-year-old said she had requested to be verified on the platform almost three weeks ago, but still not been approved by Instagram.

Another co-star, who asked to remain anonymous, suggested that Kieran was accepted because of his ‘connections’.

‘Some of us have more followers than him, so it’s weird that he got accepted so quickly,’ they said.

Meanwhile, Kieran said that he was more surprised than anybody that his application had been approved so quickly.

‘I requested it before I boarded my flight in Sydney to come home to Adelaide and then when I landed, I was already verified,’ the 21-year-old explained.

‘It was funny as, because I thought it would take weeks!’

It comes as shock to many of his co-stars, as even the show’s winner, Chad, is yet to receive his blue tick – despite having more than 220,000 followers.

So far, Kieran and Daniel Gorringe are the only housemates with verified profiles.

Daniel already had a blue tick before entering the Big Brother house because of his career in the Australian Football League.

Meanwhile, Kieran and several other housemates recently announced they would be selling personalised video messages for fans using the Cameo app.

Kieran, who also has his own range of merchandise, is charging $15 per shout-out, while runner-up Sophie Budack, 26, is requesting $20 per fan request.

‘I have decided to join cameo so I can make personalised messages for you. Let’s get chatting,’ Sophie said on Instagram.
