Sophie Monk BLOCKS family on social media after ‘they expressed concern at romance with boyfriend’

Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk has discussed the rising tensions which have torn her family apart.

After blocking both her mother Sandi and her sister Lucy on social media, the 40-year-old told The Daily Telegraph: ‘Like all families there are disagreements.’

A source went on to reveal that the family heartbreak was a result of her whirlwind relationship with Joshua Gross – who she moved in with shortly after they met in 2018. 

Hinting at the scale of their painful family split, it’s also claimed that Sophie’s mother and sister are no longer residing at her Gold Coast waterfront home on the Coomera River – which she has now put up for rent.

The blonde had been allowing her family members to reside at the opulent property since 2016 after they sold their own home in the Gold Coast.

And it’s been alleged that the reason for their fallout was a result of Sophie’s fact-paced romance with medical supply executive, Joshua, 41.  

‘He has become a very big presence in Sophie’s life, and I think there was some concern that things all happened a bit too fast,’ the source added.

The former Bardot singer has been smitten with Joshua since they first met two years ago, and he has been living with her at luxurious $2.3million NSW Central Coast home.

Meanwhile, the publication also alleges that Sophie admitted to her close friends that she was working on becoming financially independent from her family.

However, when addressing her family woes, Sophie optimistically said: I love my family more than anything. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for them. I’m sure everything will work out in time.’

Sophie first met her boyfriend, Joshua, aboard an international flight in 2018 before he wined and dined her at LA celebrity hotspot Catch – a favourite with the likes of Kylie Jenner and David Beckham.

The besotted pair are now living together in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom 8000sqm residence in Matcham, Central Coast.
