Police are on the hunt for a man who fled a tattoo parlour without paying for a £300 piece of art on his arm.

Amin Daryaei and his wife Elmira Karami, who own the Puzzle tattoo studio in Hyson Green, Nottingham, claim that the customer came in to have a tattoo on his arm covered up, the Mirror reports.

During the five-hour session, an image of a lion and a crown were drawn onto the customer’s arm and a flower had started to be drawn on.

The customer then moves out of the way of someone trying to enter the studio

Elmira claims that the customer then asked for a smoke break outside the shop before running off without paying for his £300 tattoo, or having the flower finished.

Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live, Elmira said that one of her machines had also gone missing after the customer ran off.

She said: ‘He said he was just going out for five minutes.

‘It has left me really scared about being in the shop alone.’

CCTV footage from outside the tattoo shop shows the customers, wearing black, standing on the pavement smoking.

They step out of the way of someone wanting to enter the shop before running away down the road.

Mr Daryaei said: ‘We started our business but feel this has been the wrong area, but we didn’t have many choices.

‘Since lockdown happened, we have only been open since July 14 so this is very frustrating to happen less than a week later.’

Nottinghamshire police are investigating the theft and have asked anyone with information to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 769 of July 19.
