David Campbell thanks doctors and nurses for being ‘so sweet’ to daughter Betty as the five-year-old is taken to hospital after an accident at school

David Campbell’s daughter Betty was taken to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital on Friday.

The five-year-old fractured a metatarsal bone on her right foot, having tripped over a friend at school that day.

David shared a photo to Instagram of Betty in a wheelchair with a ‘moon boot’ on her injured foot, and thanked the doctors and nurses for being ‘so sweet’ to her.

Betty was dressed in her school uniform, and despite being through an ordeal, flashed the peace sign and a smile for the camera.

A second picture within the post saw Betty standing in the family home, showing off her moon boot.

The Today Extra host wrote online: ‘Back at hospital today as Betty has fractured her metatarsal tripping over her friend at school.

‘Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Royal North Shore for being so sweet to her.’

David told fans that she will be wearing the moon boot for four weeks, two weeks after her twin brother Billy had a cast on his arm removed.

In June, Billy fractured his left arm after performing a karate move off the couch. 

The Channel Nine star asked his followers on Friday whether it was a ‘twin thing’.

David wed British-born Lisa Hewitt in 2008, and they share twins Betty and Billy, and son Leo, 10.   

In an interview with 9Honey in July 2018, David spoke about meeting his wife at a time when he had almost given up on finding love.

‘It’s like I knew I couldn’t be without her. I knew something had changed in me with her and that I’d never felt this way before,’ he revealed.
