Clarifications and corrections

An article published on 25 March reported that a 72-year-old man named as Colin who had been found dead in a holiday park pond was believed to have tested positive for coronavirus, and was understood to have drowned himself. This article was published before the coroner started the inquest. We have since been contacted by the family of Colin Cormac who would like to make it clear that following preliminary inquest proceedings the coroner found that Colin’s death was the result of an accident; there is no evidence to show that he took his own life, and he did not drown. We are happy to clarify that neither Colin nor his family had Coronavirus, and sincerely apologise to the family for any distress caused.
