Bachelor star Laura Byrne reveals she was rushed to hospital with ‘stabbing pains’ and thought she was ‘going to die’ due to an alcohol-related illness

Former Bachelor star Laura Byrne lives a healthy and active lifestyle.

But the 33-year-old recalled a time she thought she was going to die on her podcast, Life Uncut, which she hosts with Bachelor In Paradise star, Brittany Hockley.

The mother-of-one said: ‘I once went to hospital because I thought I was f***ing dying.’

‘I thought I was dying’: This week on her podcast Life Uncut, Bachelor star Laura Byrne (pictured) revealed she was rushed to hospital with ‘stabbing pains’

‘I woke up in the middle of the night with these stabbing pains, and I was like ‘holy s**t, my kidney’s are about to explode.’

‘I don’t have an appendix, my appendix is already gone. I was like my kidneys, that’s it. All the alcohol I did in my twenties, my kidney’s are about to explode.’

The brunette beauty said she called a friend who helped take her to the hospital, and revealed that her pain was a result of gas.

Brittany could not help by laugh and said, ‘you had to fart!’

Laura explained: ‘I got rushed through emergency, had all the tests done. Yeah, look guys, gas can be really bad.’

Brittany jokingly asked if the doctors just ‘poked her belly’ to help her pass the gas.

But Laura, who was in on her joke, said: ‘Brittney do not trivialise [it], they had to run some tests.’

‘What? What tests did they have to run,’ Brittney said as they laughed at Laura’s misfortune.

Bout of wind: Laura explained it was just gus in the end. 'I got rushed through emergency, had all the tests done. Yeah, look guys, gas can be really bad' she said

Brittney, who is also a radiographer, changed the toned and revealed that there is a truth to such pains.

She said: ‘Because I do CT scans and X-rays, I look at it straight away and I’ll say this person needs to fart and poop immediately.

‘They (the medical staff) would have looked at yours and been like ‘she just needs to whizz, pop,” Brittney added.

In the past, Laura revealed that she and fiance Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson maintain an active lifestyle and sometimes train together.

She told NW back in 2018: ‘We’ll go for runs and hikes together. But either way, I’m active every single day.

Matty said: ‘Yeah, in the gym, if she was telling me how to squat and I was telling her how to do something.’

The couple, who met on season five of The Bachelor, became engaged last year and are proud parents to one-year-old daughter Marlie-Mae.
