A producer on The Kyle and Jackie O Show mentioned on Thursday that a Channel Seven publicist had confirmed the result to her off the record.

Chad was apparently leagues ahead of the second-place contestant, they said.

Earlier in the broadcast, Chad had claimed he didn’t know the specifics of the voting tally, but was interested to find out the percentage breakdown.

A comment exchange on runner-up Daniel’s Instagram page also suggests that Chad had secured an overwhelming majority of the votes.

The former AFL player shared a post congratulating fellow finalists Chad and Sophie, saying they ‘both should be super proud’.

Former contestant Mat Garrick, who was eliminated in fourth place, then replied that he had seen the vote count and it ‘wasn’t pretty’.

He added: ‘You should be so proud of yourself big man and give yourself some bloody credit every once in a while.’

Matt and Daniel were close in the house – they were nicknamed ‘the alphas’ – and have both complained that they were edited unfairly by producers.

The suggestion that the votes ‘weren’t pretty’ appears to suggest that Chad won by a landslide because he’d received a more favourable edit than Daniel.

After being declared the winner, Chad told host Sonia Kruger that he intended to use the prize to fund a boys’ trip and pay off his mother’s outstanding bills.

Despite not winning the $230,000, Daniel still has plenty to smile about.

After leaving the house, he reunited with his on-off girlfriend, Ana Cannon, and said on Thursday that their relationship was ”worth more than any money’.
