The pair became the house couple on Seven’s reboot, and were often filmed kissing and cuddling in bed.

When asked if they were ‘still an item’ or had experienced ‘fireworks’ together in Sydney since being reunited, the answers weren’t exactly heartfelt.

‘It’s an awkward question, because we came back into the world at a weird time with coronavirus. Chad lives in Sydney and I was going back to Darwin. As soon as we left the house, we didn’t see each other and it put everything on hold,’ Sophie said.

She joked that now she was in Sydney maybe going on a ‘first date’ would be easier to plan, hinting they hadn’t yet had one since she landed in New South Wales.

‘Sophie landed a couple of days ago and we’ve got the finale, so that’s the exciting part. Now we can see what goes on,’ Chad said.

Host and former Big Brother winner Ben Norris interjected: ‘Yes or no answer, Chad. Have you kissed Sophie since you’ve seen her over the last week?’

Sophie nervously laughed, as Chad responded: ‘I’ve seen Sophie like once, and so, of course I kissed her. I’m not going to shake her hand and say “how you doing, mate?”‘

‘Like I said, I’m excited to see her tomorrow night. It’s goign to be awesome… but you never know until you see us at the finale.’

'We both agreed. It's just fair': Chad and Sophie said they would share the prize money if they won because they played the game together throughout the entire series

And ahead of the winner being decided by public vote, Chad and Sophie have agreed to split the $230,000 cash prize if they win.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, the couple confirmed their decision to share the prize if one of them is victorious.

The pair are up against former AFL star Daniel Gorringe, who found the deal between the couple hard to believe.

'If they split that money, I'll eat my left shoe': Daniel was a little more skeptical of the deal the pair had made, but said if either of them win they will have equally deserved it

‘If they split that money, I’ll eat my left shoe. It’s very hard when the money is in front of you. They might prove me wrong and I hope they do.’

He added: ‘Sophie and Chad would deserve that win if they get it.’
