Ellie Goulding fails to mention THAT feud with her ‘threatening’ mother

Ellie Goulding avoided discussing her shock feud with her mum Tracey during an interview with This Morning and a chat with OK! Magazine. 

The Starry Eyed songstress, 33, caused shockwaves when she revealed she hasn’t seen her ‘threatening’ mother for almost a year and has admitted she’s sought therapy because their difficult relationship ‘isn’t fixable’. 

In the explosive interview, she confessed that she ‘would like’ to speak about their relationship, however she failed to discuss their issues on the magazine show on Tuesday, where she spoke about her new album and lockdown.  

Ellie tied the knot with husband Caspar Jopling at the end of August 2019, but her 2019 ended with her mum being involved in a racism storm.

In a recent interview, Ellie revealed that she hasn’t seen her mum for almost a year and also admitted that her mother ‘became quite threatening’ the last time the singer spoke about her publicly.

The Starry Eyed singer hasn’t seen her mother since she wed Caspar in York almost a year ago. Ellie confessed that, though she’d like to be open about their problems, she’s too fearful about the repercussions.

She told The Independent: ‘It’s frustrating because I really want to talk to you about it. But she became quite threatening when I did talk about her in the press. Discussing her was a disaster. I haven’t seen my mother since my wedding last year.’

Following the admission, on Tuesday she spoke to Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langsford about life in lockdown and her plans for her music. 

On her new album, she said: ‘It’s my very honest side where I’ve written every single lyric, I’ve played most of the instruments, I’ve co-produced the album…

‘So it kind of gives, I guess, my fans a delve into my take on life, my reflection of the past however many years of touring, all that stuff…

‘And then the second half are some of the songs I’ve already released in America. It’s my more fun, collaborative side where I have written with other people.’

On self-shooting her new music video in her bedroom, Ellie revealed: ‘I did. I’m not going to lie, I think the one thing I’ve learned about myself over this period of time in lockdown is that me and technology do not mix remotely. It’s been a real struggle…

‘Luckily, I had an all-female team on that video and [with me] on FaceTime. I actually had to borrow a phone so I could have two doing two things at the same time.’

On being in lockdown with her husband of less than a year, Ellie said: ‘I know, it’s gone so quickly, the past few months not being able to see anyone else…

‘It’s actually been really great, he’s actually at the end now of studying for his business degree at Oxford so he’s been very busy….

‘They’re not easy on you at Oxford, as you can imagine. He’s been stuck down in his man cave doing essays and in Zoom lectures and I’ve just been prancing around the kitchen dancing and baking.’
