Megan Fox goes up against a ferocious CGI lion in trailer for her new action thriller Rogue
It’s Fox vs. lion in the trailer for new action thriller Rogue.
The film, which is being released on-demand August 28, sees Megan Fox play mercenary Samantha O’Hara who goes on a dangerous mission to extract a governor’s daughter from kidnappers somewhere in Africa.
However, things take an unexpected turn when Megan’s character comes up against a surprise opponent in the shape of a ferocious CGI lion, that threatens to make her job even more difficult.

The film’s director and co-writer M.J. Bassett has explained the premise of the movie in a release, via Entertainment Weekly, saying: ‘Rogue is the story of a small mercenary unit of soldiers who have been engaged by the governor of an African country to rescue his daughter who has been kidnapped by an Al-Shabaab-type organization.’
She adds: ‘This unit go in, there’s more than one girl so their plan is immediately compromised, and their extraction goes wrong. So, suddenly they find themselves on the run from the bad guys, looking for refuge in Africa, and come across an abandoned farm, or they think it’s abandoned.’
‘While they’re hunkering down they realize that the farm was used as a poachers’ stronghold and a breeding place for lions for the hunting industry and the East Asian medicinal market.’

She concluded: ‘And though the lions seem to have escaped, there’s clearly one still around. So, suddenly they realize they have no ammunition and they are very much the bottom of the food chain, and they have to survive the night before the bad guys arrive, the lion gets them, and the extraction can happen.’
As well as Rogue, Megan has a number of films in production currently, including comedy-drama Big Gold Brick, animation Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin, and the thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass which stars Bruce Willis and rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
Megan is of course currently dating Machine Gun Kelly – real name Colson Baker – their romance becoming high-profile after she recently starred in his music video.
