Niall Horan reveals he’s been keeping VERY busy in lockdown by learning to play the ukulele, writing songs on his guitar and finding a love for CLEANING

He’s been busy promoting his second album Heartbreak Weather.

And Niall Horan has shown that he didn’t let lockdown empty out his schedule, instead taking up several new hobbies to stay entertained.

The former One Direction star, 26, told The Sunday Mirror that as well as learning to play the ukulele he’s been writing new songs and found a love for cleaning.

Niall said: ‘Cleaning is so therapeutic, I didn’t realise. I obviously do it in dribs and drabs, but this is basically a month-long spring clean that we’re getting ourselves into and it’s really good.’

As well as sprucing up his apartment, Niall has been working on his physique and trying to eat healthier by cooking his own meals.

He said: ‘I find myself sometimes working out twice a day. I want to come out of this absolutely shredded – but I probably won’t because I do like to eat c**p.’

Having the extra time at home has also meant that Niall can work on new music for his adoring fans.

The Nice to Meet Ya hitmaker told the Sunday Mirror that he’s been trying to learn the ukulele and also attempting to get to grips with playing the piano.

He added: ‘I’ve been picking up a guitar at every opportunity, and trying to write some tunes.’

Niall proved his time in lockdown had been an instant help for his music back in March when he shared a new song on Instagram.

Posting a video of himself, the star wrote: ‘Dear Patience is a song I wrote at a time when I felt like I needed to be more patient with things and now that we’re all holed up at home, it feels like we could all use a little patience.’
