Myleene Klass and family throw a garden party for Kate Garraway’s son William to celebrate his 11th birthday… as his dad Derek Draper recovers from COVID-19 in hospital

She’s been standing in to cover her regular Smooth radio show amid Derek Draper’s coronavirus battle.

And on Saturday, Myleene Klass, 42, and her family threw a garden party for Kate Garraway’s, 53, son William to celebrate his 11th birthday, and took to Instagram to give her fans a glimpse of their fun in the sun.

Bill’s birthday is on July 28, but the former Hear’Say singer took it upon herself to organise an early bash for him, with the help of her boyfriend Simon Motson and her two daughters Ava, 12, and Hero, 9.

Myleene organised for a large tent to be erected in the garden, and opted for a mix of green, yellow and brown balloons.

In addition to a Fortnite themed birthday cake, the youngster was also treated to two tiers of matching cupcakes.

There was no shortage of sweet treats, with party rings and Haribo sweets as well as bags of crisps to munch on.

For fun and games, a blow up Gladiator set was laid out on the lawn, with other blow up toys at the ready.

Earlier this week, Kate revealed she will be able to see her husband Derek Draper in person for the first time in four months, as he remains hospitalised while recovering from COVID-19.

The presenter said on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain that nurses are setting up a television so Derek can watch her, after revealing a day before she’s staying positive after her husband had ‘a stable day’ in his recovery.

Kate made her return to GMB on Monday alongside Ben Shephard after taking a break from the show while Derek was hospitalised.

Kate told Ben Shephard: ‘I might be able to go and visit Derek today! In fact the nurses are going to put GMB on for him – they have a TV – and they’re going to put it on for him this morning.

‘They forgot I was on yesterday – they’re going to see if he can hear anything.’

Ben noted that nurses are going to ‘See if there is any stimulation.’ by showing Derek his wife on the TV, with Kate adding: ‘Trying everything we can do.’
