Russell Crowe’s ex Danielle Spencer candidly reveals how she moved on from the Hollywood heavyweight

Danielle Spencer has opened up once again about her split from Hollywood heavyweight, Russell Crowe.

The 51-year-old revealed on Friday how she moved on from The Gladiator star, who she has known since she was a teenager and who she officially divorced in 2018.

Speaking on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, Danielle spoke candidly about her new partner, Adam Long, and what it was like having her first kiss with Adam after being with Russell for years.

Telling all: Russell Crowe’s ex Danielle Spencer candidly revealed on Friday’s Kyle and Jackie O Show how she moved on from the Hollywood heavyweight – and shared some VERY intimate details about her new relationship

Danielle – who has just released a new album called Lost Luggage – spoke about her relationship with Russell, 56, and how she put her career on hold to raise their sons.

‘Do you regret having children and marrying a movie star and sort of putting your career on hold?’ shock jock Kyle Sandilands asked her.

Danielle had a cheeky reply and joked: ‘What a waste of my time! I could have put out ten albums by now, those bloody kids!’

She added that she took the hands-on approach to parenting as she couldn’t handle the idea of her children being bought up by the nanny.

‘I think because Russell was travelling a lot with work, and we wanted to try and keep the family together and the parents in the same place, I just couldn’t… I just thought we can’t both be on location and the kids bought up with a nanny.’

Danielle said that for years after their split, she and Russell would take a holiday every year with their kids so that their sons could have time with both parents.

She then revealed how she met her art dealer boyfriend, Adam Long, four years ago.

Danielle said she was strolling in Sydney’s Rose Bay when she bumped into him along the promenade, but they already had a bizarre connection.

‘As they say, you meet somebody when you least expect it and I was literally walking up Rose Bay promenade. He had a way in, Russell and I had lived at his ex-mother-in-law’s house for about ten years beforehand,’ Danielle said.

‘I hadn’t met him back then. But Russell took his mother in law’s grand kids, his sons, to the Rabbitohs…. it gave us something to talk about,’ she said.

Danielle – who is typically private about her personal life – said Adam asked her for a coffee and she obliged as he ‘seemed like a nice, friendly guy.’

‘He was very lovely to talk to, a really smiley person and I thought this is a nice person to have a chat and a cup of tea with,’ Danielle said.

Kyle then asked who leaned in for the first kiss and what it was like to have the first kiss after a big separation.

Danielle said that Adam leaned in.

‘I hang back, I accepted that kiss,’ she said.

After they started dating in early 2016, a source told Daily Mail Australia that Adam was Danielle’s ‘typical arty type she goes for.’

‘He’s typically her, very arty, and she loves that type,’ revealed the friend at the time.

‘She’s really happy, it’s still quite early days, but she’s content. And Russell is apparently pretty cool with it. He’s accepted they’re not going to get back together.’

Danielle and Russell married in April 2003 at his farm in Nana Glen, had a nine-year marriage, having separated in 2012 and divorced in 2018. They share two children Charles, 16, and Tennyson, 14.

Despite their high-profile split, Danielle told Stellar magazine earlier this month that the couple are still friends and see one another as ‘family.’

‘We have a lot of respect for each other and I consider him to be a member of my family,’ she said.

‘The marriage ended, but that didn’t mean our friendship ended. We’ve had holidays together in the past and we can happily sit down and chat.’
