New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson has been confirmed as Lindsay Lohan’s replacement as the new celebrity panellist on The Masked Singer Australia.

Channel Ten shared the news to the show’s official Instagram page on Thursday, two weeks after it was revealed Lindsay, 35, would not be returning to film season two due to coronavirus-related travel restrictions.

‘It’s Urzila Carlson! The hilarious comedian is joining the guessing panel alongside @dhughesy, @jackieo_official and @danniiminogue! Can she crack the clues and figure out who’s under the masks?’ the caption read.

Earlier this week, Urzila played coy when she was asked about her rumoured new gig on Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny.

‘I heard that. I’m sitting in Auckland right now in my PJ pants. Haven’t they already started filming that? Wouldn’t I need to be there?’ she asked.

Radio host Chrissie Swan told Urzila that filming hadn’t actually started yet.

Urzila responded: ‘Ah, if it was true, I pity those wardrobe ladies because I don’t know if I will fit in Lindsay’s wardrobe and I’ve got nothing flash enough.’

Season two of The Masked Singer was scheduled to begin filming later this month in Melbourne, but has been delayed because of the escalating pandemic.

Domestic travel restrictions between NSW and Victoria have disrupted filming, as several of the show’s stars, including panellist Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and host Osher Günsberg, live in Sydney.
