The former Bachelor runner-up was trending on Twitter during Wednesday’s premiere as viewers raged against the ‘slut-shaming’ she faced by co-stars.

Some of Abbie’s fellow female contestants took an almost immediate dislike to having her as a rival in Paradise, especially Mary Viturino and Cassandra Mamone.

Abbie had her sights set solely on Ciarran Stott, and her tunnel vision had other stars uncomfortable by her determination to gain his attention and affection.

‘Hey guys, so we agree no slut-shaming Abbie this series, because she’s a gorgeous, funny woman who’s confident and that’s not a bad thing?’ one Tweet read.

Another added: ‘Why would Channel 10 edit Abbie the villain again when people like her and know she is not the villain?’

'We're not going to slut-shame Abbie again!' Fans refused to accept Abbie's 'edit' as they knew she was 'a gorgeous, funny woman who’s confident'

During the premiere, Cassandra and Mary claimed ‘Abbie generally gets what she wants’ and suggested she would ‘put her boobs out’ in her pursuit of Ciarran.

””Abbie generally gets what she wants” is a bold statement given how spectacularly she did not get what she wanted in the entirety of last season,’ a Twitter user said.

‘The way the other girls STILL go so hard on slut-shaming Abbie as if it doesn’t require two people to make out?? Where was this energy for Matt and where is it now for Ciarran?’ another asked..

‘Somebody tell Mary that hating on Abbie is so last year,’ one Tweet said.

In fact, the public outrage even forced co-star Mary Viturino to officially apologise for her behaviour towards Abbie on the premiere.

‘I’m going to hear the people’s voice. Sorry Abbie if I was nasty to you. I don’t hate you, you know. We are different,’ she said on her Instagram Stories.

‘I hope you are doing well, and I hope you forgive me. It’s not personal. I think I just run my mouth when I’m on the show’s camera and I get too excited. I have no filter.

‘If you ever need someone to talk to on a tough day, I’m here,’ Mary offered.
