Losing motivation? Karl Stefanovic reveals he has stopped exercising with only two weeks left on his weight loss challenge as he cares for his newborn daughter Harper May

Karl Stefanovic is in the eighth week of his 10 week weight loss challenge.

But on Tuesday, the Today show host revealed he stopped exercising, as he finds it hard to squeeze in a workout while he and his wife Jasmine Yarbrough are caring for their newborn daughter, Harper May.

The 45-year-old made the confession on the breakfast program while speaking to personal trainer Steve ‘Commando’ Willis.

‘Between kids, work and daily chores, it’s easy for our health to take a backseat,’ he said.

‘Commando, [with] the newborn I’ve got at home, the time is right to start squeezing things out of the daily repertoire of exercise.’

The trainer said Karl should try to do ‘incidental fitness’ if he is struggling to find the time for a workout.

He showed Karl how to incorporate squats and lunges into his daily chores, which could include picking up the washing and vacuuming.

The media personality was left breathless after trying out the exercises, but he was impressed by how effective the workout was.

‘That is good on the quads,’ he exclaimed.

Karl’s confession comes after he pledged to lose 10 kilograms in 10 weeks on the Today show, after he tipping the scales at 105kg.

Last month, the presenter was well on the way to achieving his goal after a weigh-in revealed that he had lost 5kg in the first five weeks of the challenge.

While his pledge was to lose 10kg, Karl said that he didn’t want to stop there and is hoping to lose a total of 15kg to reach his goal weight of 90kg.

‘I started at 105kg, the heaviest I’ve ever been and it was incredibly embarrassing,’ Karl said as he spoke to obesity expert Dr. Nick Fuller, who is helping him on his fitness journey.

‘I’d like to get down to 90kg at the end of all this. You don’t think that is important but for me, it’s a big psychological thing.’

And, with two more week’s to go in the challenge, it won’t be long until fans discover if Karl has achieved his goal.
