Initially hesitant to answer the question, Grover finally settled on Nicole, 53, who appeared on the show back in 2012.

‘This interview is turning controversial. I’ll go with Nicole Kidman, because she’s probably watching right now. Hi, Nicole!’ he said.

The blue monster was also asked to offer a few words of comfort for young children in Victoria who were back in lockdown.

‘There will be a lot of kids who are maybe nervous, anxious about going into lockdown. What would Grover’s special message be?’ asked Pete, 45.

Grover urged his young fans to try and stay positive, assuring them that everything would be okay in the end.

‘It will all work out okay. This is a tough time for a lot of people right now. Just remember, we’re all going to get through this together. Stay strong. Stay healthy,’ he said.
