Radio host Ash Pollard storms out after her co-host accuses her of buying Instagram followers

Radio host Ash Pollard stormed out of the studio during a broadcast on Thursday, after her colleague accused her of buying Instagram followers. 

The 34-year-old host of Hit FM’s Gawndy & Ash Pollard had been complaining that her Instagram following had tapered off amid the coronavirus pandemic.

‘If you buy some more… Mate, just buy a couple more… Just buy enough to get to 100,000,’ her co-host Daniel ‘Gawndy’ Gawned told her.

But the mere suggestion that Ash bought Instagram followers set her off, as she insisted that none of her 71,900 followers were paid for.

By comparison, Gawndy has 5,770 followers on the popular social media app.

‘I’ve never bought any! Mine are all legit! I don’t have any bots! I don’t have bots. I have real people,’ she yelled.

But Gawndy continued, telling Ash that if she got her numbers up to 100,000, ‘then only a quarter of your followers are real then and it’s fine’.

A furious Ash insisted that her followers are ‘all real’, and claimed a lack of content was the reason why ‘it’s not moving’.

‘It’s probably dropping as we speak… All those fake bots dropping off your account,’ commented Gawndy.

‘I don’t have bots! I’m going to the toilet!’ screamed the pregnant radio host, before standing up and holding a middle finger up to the camera.  

Meanwhile, a clearly bemused Gawndy struggled to keep a straight face amid Ash’s furious reaction.

‘You sound very defensive for someone who has a bunch of bots on their Instagram!’ he laughed.
