Cassidy wrote: ‘Speaking of the audacity… this comment. “nobody in the public eye are complete strangers.” That to me sounds like a restraining order waiting to happen,’ she wrote.

‘Just because you know my name and watched  1 hour of a TV show a night doesn’t mean you know me.

Cassidy went on to say that viewers are entitled to ‘hate’ or ‘enjoy’ people on reality TV, but emphasised that it ‘doesn’t entitle them to make judgements on what they may or may not be “ashamed of”.’

The comment in question read: ‘Nobody in the public eye are complete strangers. You’ve aired on UK television for everyone to see your ways, it seems you’re a little bit ashamed/ embarrassed of how you reacted towards other people.’

The trolling began when UK viewers saw the episode in which Cassidy forced Grant Crapp to couple up with her, when he wanted to be with Tayla Damir.

Last week, Cassidy shared a few of the horrible messages she’d received on Instagram from trolls calling her a ‘needy psychopath,’ an ‘evil b***h’ and the C-word.
