Jimmy Bartel enjoys quality time in the park with his sons Aston, four, and Henley, one – as his ex Nadia reveals she’s feeling ‘anxious’ about isolation

Jimmy Bartel won’t let Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdown get in the way of spending quality time with his two sons. 

On Thursday, the former AFL star, 36, treated his boys Aston, four and Henley, one, to a sunny outing to their local park. 

Documenting the action-packed trip on Instagram Stories, Jimmy uploaded several videos of the youngsters running around and kicking a ball.

‘Whooooo for [sun emoji] the doting father captioned one video, while writing ‘Run ’em ragged’ on the next clip.  

It’s unclear whether Jimmy’s new girlfriend Lauren Mand was present for the fun-filled excursion. 

However, not everyone is enjoying their time in lockdown, as Jimmy’s ex-wife Nadia admitted on Thursday that she’s feeling ‘anxious’ about the situation.

Uploading a photo of her sons to Instagram Stories, Nadia wrote: ‘I’m not going to lie, this new round of lockdowns has made me feel really anxious, it’s especially hard for anyone living alone.’ 

‘But I am trying to be positive and think about all the good things like these two munchys,’ the single mother continued, referring to her children. 

The whole of Melbourne and Mitchell Shire north of the city was placed back into lockdown for six weeks from midnight on Wednesday, after Victoria recorded 191 new cases of coronavirus – its worst figure yet.

Residents are only allowed to leave their homes for work and study, giving or receiving care, shopping for essentials, and daily exercise near where they live.

Police will stop Victorians leaving or entering Melbourne with roadblocks and booze bus-style vehicle checks, effectively sealing five million people inside the city. 

Panic-buying customers flocked to Coles and Woolworths supermarkets in Melbourne before the lockdown measures came into effect.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has suggested that Victoria’s horror second wave could have been avoided.

Meanwhile, an infectious disease expert has said the outbreak could ‘definitely’ spread to other parts of the country.
