Former Big Brother winner Reggie Bird admits the show’s revamped season is ‘too fast’ and doesn’t allow her to truly get to know the housemates

Former Big Brother winner Reggie Bird has shared her thoughts on this year’s revamped season. 

The 46-year-old, who shot to fame after winning the series in 2003, admitted that she didn’t feel like she’s had enough time to get to know the housemates. 

‘I feel like it’s too fast and we don’t really know their true personalities,’ she told Now To Love.

‘I’m liking it but I’d love to see more of getting to know who the housemates are,’ Reggie added of the Channel 7 series, which is still currently airing.

The former fish and chip shop owner went on to admit that she would love to go back into the house as part of an All-Stars season.

‘I think the true-blue, die-hard fans would love to see that happen!’ she proclaimed.

While Reggie would love to give reality TV another go, she recently detailed the harrowing aftermath of winning Big Brother in 2003.

The Tasmania native revealed that her fame and $250,000 prize money ‘just went’ in flash, leaving her to pick up the pieces.

The mother of two also told the Not Here to Make Friends podcast that being a celebrity exposed her to stalkers and con men who took advantage of her.

To make matters worse, she ‘couldn’t get a job’ for two years after the show because no one would take her seriously.

She ended up spending ‘all the money [she] had left’ on rent, before being ‘ripped off’ by someone claiming to be a television producer.

Perhaps the most traumatising event after winning Big Brother was being stalked by a man who used ‘many aliases’ and would camp outside her house.

Reggie is now legally blind after being diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa.

She has lost 90 per cent of her vision and walks with the aid of a cane.

Meanwhile, her son suffers from cystic fibrosis, an inherited disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs in the body.
