Villagers in central China have filmed what they suspected to be a ‘mysterious’ beast swimming around a reservoir.
Residents thought it could be a legendary lake monster after spotting the 10ft long creature lurking in the pond today in Luoyang, Henan province.
Footage released by local media shows the supposedly mystical animal moving up and down in the water at a fast speed.

Villagers allegedly claimed that they had spotted the mythical ‘lake monster’ lurking in the pond today in Luoyang, Henan province of central China on Thursday at around 11:30am
Footage of the eerie scene was shared by local paper Dahe News on Chinese TikTok-like Douyin on Thursday.
A group of residents spotted a slim-shaped creature appearing in a local lake at around noon today, according to the newspaper.
One of the onlookers can be heard yelling ‘holy sh**’ in disbelief.
The alleged beast was said to be about three metres (10 feet) long.

The news comes after thousands of villagers in south-western China have flocked to search for what they thought was a ‘mysterious creature’ after hearing loud noises that apparently sounded like a dragon’s growling.
Trending footage emerged recently shows curious locals swarming to the top of the mountain in Xiushui of Guizhou province while the supposedly mystical beast can be heard making the booming noises.
Zoologists later revealed that the sound was, in fact, coming from a type of small bird called the yellow-legged buttonquail.
