Paris Jackson flashes a peace…amid controversy over her film role as ‘lesbian Jesus’

Paris Jackson became the target of online naysayers last month, when it was revealed she would play ‘lesbian Jesus’ in the forthcoming indie film Habit.

But, even amid the backlash, the 22-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson only had peace to spread as she stopped by a Walgreens store in Sherman Oaks on Monday.

Paris flashed a peace sign at passerbys before entering the popular drugstore chain.

Jackson proved to be a total Bohemian babe as she walked through the parking lot in a long paisley skirt that rested on her hips.

She paired her statement skirt with a cropped green tank top that featured a trendy tie front and spaghetti straps.

The musician layered up her look with a brown oversized cardigan that matched the tinting on her circular shades.

A slew of chains hung down from Paris’ neck and her wrists were decked out in a myriad of beaded bracelets.

Jackson rocked a pair of brown Birkenstock sandals on her feet and had two woven anklets around her left ankle.

Her brunette hair was parted to one side and flew around in the evening breeze.

Paris tucked her car keys into her Louis Vuitton backpack and cracked open a Monster Energy drink.

Paris’ upcoming film Habit follows a ‘street-smart party girl with a Jesus fetish,’ reportedly played by Bella Thorne, who finds herself in some trouble.

After she finds herself in the midst of a violent drug deal, she finds a way out by pretending to be a nun, hence the title.

The cast also includes Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, Bria Vinaite and Josie Ho, with Janell Shirtcliff making her directorial debut, working from a script by Suki Kaiser (Van Helsing).

The film will be produced by Donovan Leitch Jr., Michael Suppes, Chris Pak Yu Mung, Chan Pang Chun, Damon Lawner and Libby Mintz, with Cassian Elwes (Mudbound, Dallas Buyers Club) executive producing.

Voltage Pictures will handle international sales at this time, with Elwes’ Elevated Films company representing the U.S. distribution rights.

Habit has been making waves before it’s even released, with a Change.org petition protesting the film racking up more than 260,000 signatures.

The petition’s founder, Vivian N., called Habit, ‘a new blasphemous Hollywood film’ and slammed it for portraying Jesus as ‘a lesbian woman’.

Vivian’s statement read, ‘A new blasphemous Hollywood film is predicted to come out soon depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman.’

‘The film “Habit” stars Paris Jackson who plays the role of “lesbian Jesus”.’

‘Distributors haven’t picked it up as of yet, so let’s please spread awareness and wake people up to the Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society.’

Vivian targeted the petition toward Warner Bros. and Lionsgate.

Filming has already wrapped with the project in post-production as of April, though there are no release plans in place at this time.

This role marks the latest in Paris’ burgeoning acting career, that started with her role as Rachel Wells on the Fox TV series Star.
