Devastated MasterChef viewers struggled to show interest in Monday night’s episode following the elimination of Poh Ling Yeow.

As the five remaining contestants battled it out in the kitchen, eliminated fan favourite Poh was still on the minds of those watching at home.

‘Bored’ fans couldn’t resist pointing out the ‘Poh shaped hole’ in their viewing experience, while others stressed she was done dirty and was ‘meant to win’ the entire series.

On Sunday’s episode, the show’s judges declared Poh’s pasta to be undercooked, and as a result, she was eliminated.

And her void was felt far and wide on Monday, as viewers passionately demanded her to be brought back to the show.

One said: ‘There is a Poh shaped hole in this episode,’ while another noted: ‘This Poh free episode is boring #masterchefau.’

Another pondered their loyalty to the show, saying: ‘Missing Poh cooking already. Don’t know if I want to continue watching now.. #MasterChefAU.’

Numerous others joined in on the Poh nostalgia on Twitter: ‘Still can’t believe Poh was eliminated. She was meant to win.’    

‘What even is #masterchefau without Poh?’ and: ‘Utterly missing poh’s version of fun, stress-induced cooking #MasterChefAU.’

Her elimination was emotional with judge Melissa Leong calling Poh a ‘national treasure’.

Poh was graceful in defeat, saying: ‘It’s been everything that I wanted it to be. I’m a risk taker, and that’s what happened today, you know.

‘I met my demise finally. But I’ve had such a fantastic time. It’s just been such a joy to cook with these guys.

‘And it’s really humbling to be around them. It’s been… it’s just been such a fantastic experience. I’ve loved every moment.’

While she was composed in the moment, Poh later broke down in tears, and said she was ‘grateful’ for her experience on the show.
