‘I think I need my own cooking show!’ US woman reveals her recipe for ‘British beans on toast’

An American mother living in the UK has horrified social media users once again with her take on ‘British beans on toast’, and claims she needs her ‘own cooking show’.

It comes after Michelle, who is originally from North Carolina, went viral after posting a recipe for ‘British tea’ by microwaving the water along with her take on ‘British eggs’, mixed with sugar and topped with a gluttonous amount of whipped cream.

In her latest TikTok video, the mother-of-three revealed how she’s been inundated with requests for a ‘traditional British breakfast’, before taking a slice of white bread and topping it with cold beans.

After pouring the majority of the tin onto the slice of bread with ‘juice and all’, Michelle unwraps a slice of square cheese which she places on top before putting it all in the microwave.

And the UK-based nurse, who has a Youtube page documenting her life in the UK, shocked Twitter users with her bizarre recipe, which she captioned: ‘I think I need my own cooking show, I’m getting really good at this.’

Many social media users were quick to point out that the dish, which has garnered more than 36,000 Twitter views, cannot be labelled ‘beans on toast’ if a toaster isn’t used.

‘Surely it isn’t toast if you don’t put it in a toaster,’ one commented.

Another added: ‘You said beans on toast but where’s the toast?’

‘That’s not toast, it’s warm, floppy bread,’ Anthony Cameron posted.

‘Nobody in the UK has ever, ever made beans on toast in this manner,’ one penned.

Others were convinced that Michelle was purposely trying to ‘wind up’ Britons with her unconventional recipes.

‘This has got to be a wind up. Surely no one is that stupid, one wrote.

Another chimed: ‘Of course it’s a wind up! You should see her making a cuppa.’

Others called for the microwave to be ‘thrown away’ after Michelle used the appliance in all three of her viral videos.

Last month, Michelle posted a video making ‘British eggs’ after claiming she had a lot of questions about making an English breakfast’.

She removed two eggs from the fridge and cracked them into a bowl before piling on salt, a pinch of pepper and a teaspoon of sugar, along with gluttonous amounts of whipped cream, before whisking it all together and putting in the microwave for two minutes.

And social media users were left horrified at the recipe for the classic British breakfast.

In early May, Michelle went viral for a TikTok video in which she broke down how she makes ‘hot tea’ using powdered instant tea mix, Tang orange drink mix, instant lemonade, sugar, and a couple of spices — a recipe that had other social media users expressing disgust and dismay.

Michelle appears to have a thick skin, because just a month later, she’s uploaded another tea technique, which she claimed to be an authentic British tea to the dismay of many.

‘So I got a lot of questions after my last video, and everyone wanted to see me make hot tea, or British tea — so today we’re gonna make tea,’ she said to the camera as she stands side-by-side with one of her teenage daughters.

First, they filled a mug about two thirds of the way with water from the sink. They microwaved the water for a minute, then poured in milk to fill the last third of the cup.

Her daughter then dropped in a tea bag and sprinkled quite a lot of sugar into the already nearly-overflowing mug.

‘And that’s how you make hot tea,’ Michelle said with a smile.
