Lana Del Rey enjoys some snuggles from kittens as she celebrates finishing her book after jetting off with her typewriter

Lana Del Rey has been hard at work on the second of two books of poetry, which will be accompanied with spoken word LPs.

And the six-time Grammy nominee recently jetted off for some isolation and creative time to finish her work.

She celebrated finishing Behind the Iron Gates – Insights from an Institution as she snuggled with some kittens Sunday in a black-and-white photo on Instagram.

The 35-year-old wrote: ‘Do you know how hard it was to finish the book with these two little terrors!’

She paired the sweet selfie with another black-and-white shot of herself looking exhausted in bed after finishing the book.

Lana took to Instagram the day before, rocking a retro chic look in a white short-sleeved turtleneck, as she prepared to board a private jet.

She held an equally retro typewriter under her arm, writing in the caption: ‘La who am I to love u.’

Entitled Patent Leather Do-Over, the spoken word poem is a tribute to Sylvia Plath and her work The Bell Jar, featuring music by Jack Antonoff.

Behind the Iron Gates is set to release in March of 2021 through Simon & Schuster, a followup to her debut book.

The first book Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass is expected to come out sometime in 2020.

Lana said last year at a concert that the books would be available at mom and pop bookstores in California for only a dollar ‘because my thoughts are priceless.’
